Chinese New Year is just around the corner and coincides with Valentine’s Day this year. Gotta clean the house tomorrow because you can’t clean on New Year’s Day, lest you want to get rid of your blessings. I know it’s superstitious and possibly silly, but it’s a tradition that I’ve been doing for the past while. I like to start my new year’s right. ~ Also on tomorrow’s agenda is making caramel ice cream (for sure) and (possibly/maybe) macarons – 3. We’ll see how adventurous I’ll be.
Plans for new year’s eve is to have dinner with my family and then go out and gamble. I have no luck, but maybe it’ll change for the year of the Tiger. I’m thrilled that the year of the Ox is done. It is the worst year in the cycle for my kind, the Sheep people. The good was really good, but the bad was really bad. Time for some good goods and not so bad bads.
Aren’t these chocolates rad? They’re from Purdy’s. My sister’s mother-in-law was kind to get us these for the new year. I’m actually sad to eat it because it’s so pretty. But in the end, my stomach will win. It always does.
Anyhow, I’ll keep you posted on this weekend’s shenanigans and what not. Gambling and food, what’s not to love?
